Items you can trade like cash and use for yourself

Cash can easily and very quickly become useless in a number of different scenerios.

Here is a list of some items you might not have thought of that make good barter items and, at the same time, are useful to you.

32 count Strike anywhere matchbooks. One person found them for 120 boxes for $20 on ebay. You wouldn't even have to barter for a whole box, maybe just one or two matches.

Cartridges 22LR and whatever size you use yourself

Candles at 33 cents each for 15 hour unscented white votives on [url]Candledepot.com[/url]this is a good deal

Calcium hypochlorite (pool shock) 1 lb bags cost just $3.50 and will make roughly 12,000 gallons safe for drinking.

Seeds packets are perfect size and weight and have a long shelf life

2 cycle motor oil in pre-sized bottles good for chainsaws and other small machines

Rechargable batteries especially if you have a solar recharge unit you could have an instant new business

Nails and wood screws lots for people who are repairing or jerry-rigging things

Thread, straight pins, needles and safety pins Lots of repairs will be needed in the future and another new business if you like to sew

Things that are not really needed for trade, but someone will be willing to trade for them since perhaps they might be hard to find or hard to buy at a reasonable price anywhere else.
Given the fact if things hyper-inflate.

Perhaps other things will be good for trade too. Large bags or roll your own tobacco can be like gold to a smoker. If you have tobacco seeds for trade, like gold too for some. That reminds me, I need to get some. eeks.

Ladies will need lady things. Guess us guys always forget about the ladies. If you have the room, store some of those needed things up, unless you have a wife that has planned ahead of you.

Shoes, boots, and things you don't use anymore, don't throw them away, they are good for trade if they are still useable. Even coats. Other Clothing. That is if you still have a house if there is a disaster.

Gun cleaning kits. They are about 2-5 bucks for some older military style ones. Good to have a few.

Tools of every kind. Got extras?

Batteries. All kinds. Even some auto battery rejuvenator will be needed since batteries will cost more than the car one day.

Lighters, buy a few bags full. Cheap and can be used for trade. Refill canisters.
Some like lighters better than matches, like me. Went through a whole box of matches and finally got one to light.

Well someone can add more. I am out of ideas for now.

We have been trying to stock up on all the items mentioned below. I have been buying up vitamins when I see them on sale. Walgreens always has vitamins for sale.
